Pakistan Airstrikes Hit Northeastern Afghanistan, Killing at Least Three

Pakistani air strikes targeted northeastern Afghanistan early Monday morning, killing at least three people and injuring four others in Kunar province, according to Afghan officials. While Taliban spokespeople reported that the raids hit civilian locations—destroying a family home in Kunar and property in Paktika province—Pakistan’s Information Ministry claimed the strikes targeted three locations and killed 28 "terrorists." The air raids follow a deadly bombing at a Pakistani police facility in Kohat that killed 21 people, which Islamabad blamed on Afghan-based militants, threatening to reignite severe cross-border tensions after months of fragile calm.
